United States supports COVID-19 response in Guinea

The Embassy of the United States is pleased to announce the strengthening of cooperation between the United States and the Republic of Guinea in the health sector.

For this purpose, Mrs. Izetta Minko-Moreau, the Acting USAID Guinea Mission Director and Mr. Pierre Ngom, UNICEF Country Representative, in collaboration with the Government of Guinea, will participate in the launch of a nationwide COVID risk communication campaign. The campaign is funded by the United States Government through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and will be implemented by UNICEF in collaboration with three Guinean ministries – Territorial Administration and Decentralization, Health, and Communication. The ceremony will take place on Saturday 08 August 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the headquarters of the Municipality of Dixinn.

This campaign will cover all 38 health districts of the country and will consist of mobilizing local actors in order to improve risk communication and strengthen COVID-19 infection prevention and control efforts. The United States Embassy will be accompanied at this ceremony by the Ministries of Health, Territorial Administration, Communications and national and international development partners.
