Launching of Agriculture and Rural Journalism Prize

launchingori500On Thursday October 15, 2015, the NGO Media and Agriculture for Rural Development (AMEDAR) organized a press conference to launch the Agriculture and Rural Journalism Prize. This first edition of the Award will encourage journalists to cover agriculturally relevant topics and help explore the relationship between journalists’ critical thinking skills and their experiences in agricultural and environmental areas. Selected finalists will take part in a training session, supported in part by a grant. Thierno Mamadou Diallo, the president of AMEDAR leads the project which trains, encourages and promotes more accurate, useful reporting in a country where a large proportion of economic activity is related to agricultural production.
