Joint Statement on the September 28 Stadium Massacre
Joint Statement by the Embassies of the United States, the European Union and France on the September 28 Stadium Massacre
On the twelfth anniversary of the September 28, 2009 stadium massacre, the Embassies of the United States of America and France, as well as the European Union delegation, continue to urge that those responsible for the atrocities be held accountable.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the massacre, who deserve justice and for whom justice has too long been denied. Ensuring that justice is served for the victims of the massacre and other acts of political violence within a formal judicial system is the only path to lasting peace, rule of law, and stability in Guinea.
