As of May 28, 2020, there are 3,446 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 21 deaths of hospitalized individuals reported in Guinea since March 12, 2020. Guinea does not report non-hospital deaths due to COVID-19.
The Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Conakry have arranged a special chartered flight for U.S. citizens and U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents only, departing Conakry on June 2. The flight will depart Conakry on Tuesday, June 2 at 13h45, stop in Monrovia, and arrive at Washington Dulles Airport at 07h00 on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.
Travelers are responsible for any arrangements or costs (lodging, onward destination or local transportation, etc.) upon arrival at Washington Dulles airport. Exact times and routing are subject to change.
A promissory note must be signed by each adult at the airport before boarding. The costs are $1,675.25 for each adult (12+ years), $1,290.25 for each child (2-11 years), and $151.85 for infants (under 2 years). No cash or credit card payments will be accepted. We are unable to accommodate unaccompanied minors, defined as children under age 18 traveling alone, or visa holders on this flight.
Registration for this flight is now closed and an email notification will be sent to those with confirmed seats, and to a small number of standby passengers, by noon on Saturday, May 30, 2020. Details on airport arrival times and other administrative issues will be included in that email. Only passengers with confirmed or standby seats will be allowed to enter the airport.

Baggage allowances must be respected. Excess baggage will not be allowed and passengers over the baggage limit will not be boarded for this flight. Confirmed passengers will be allowed two checked bags weighing less than 20 kgs/44 lbs. each, one carry-on bag THAT MUST FIT UNDER THE SEAT, and one personal item per passenger. Passengers should not use non-standard luggage such as plastic sacks or plastic wrap without luggage.
On March 19, 2020 the Department of State issued a Level 4”Do Not Travel” Global Health Alert to U.S. citizens.
Given the closure of airports and reduction of flight options worldwide, U.S. citizens should be prepared to remain outside the United States for an extended period.
