As of May 27, 2020, there are 3,358 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 20 deaths of hospitalized individuals reported in Guinea since March 12, 2020. Guinea does not report non-hospital deaths due to COVID-19.
The Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Conakry have arranged a special chartered flight for U.S. citizens and U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents only. Visa holders will not be able to take this flight.
The flight will depart Conakry on Tuesday, June 2 at 15h00, transit Dublin, and arrive at Washington Dulles Airport at 06h45 on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. Please note that routing and schedule may change, but the arrival airport will always be Washington Dulles.
Travelers are responsible for any arrangements or costs (lodging, onward destination, local transportation, etc.) upon arrival at Washington Dulles airport.
A promissory note must be signed at the airport before boarding for flight costs to Washington Dulles. The costs are $1,675.25 for each traveler 12 years of age or older, $1,290.25 for each traveler age 2-11 years of age, and $151.85 for infants (under 2 years). No cash or credit card payments will be accepted. We are unable to accommodate unaccompanied minors, defined as children under age 18 (note this is a correction from a previous message), or visa holders on this flight.
If you want to depart on this flight, complete the form at the link below and SUBMIT it no later than 7 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2020. You should have the passport and social security number of each family member, and all local and U.S. contact information at hand before you being working on the form.
Only submit the form for this flight one time. Multiple submissions will be deleted. Please do not email us asking for status or additional information. All information is provided in these messages.
We will contact you via the email address you provide in the form by noon on Saturday, May 30 with further information, including flight details and whether or not you have a confirmed seat.
Unless you receive an email confirming your flight, please do not come to the airport. Only those with email confirmations will be permitted to fly. Confirmations will be sent no later than noon on Saturday, May 30.
Baggage Allowance: passengers will change planes in Dublin and it is critical that passengers respect the following baggage allowances. Those who do not, will not be boarded for this flight.
Confirmed passengers will be allowed two checked bags weighing less than 20 kgs/44 lbs. each, one carry-on bag THAT MUST FIT UNDER THE SEAT, and one personal item per passenger. Passengers should not use non-standard luggage such as plastic sacks or plastic wrap without luggage.
On March 19, 2020 the Department of State issued a Level 4”Do Not Travel” Global Health Alert to U.S. citizens.
Given the closure of airports and reduction of flight options worldwide, U.S. citizens should be prepared to remain outside the United States for an extended period.
