Embassy Conakry’s Cultural Attache visited the Upper Guinea region of Kankan recently. While there, he led a few programs at Mission Guinea’s American Reading Room at the University Julius Nyere of Kankan, and supported the activities of 2016 Mandela Washington Fellow Mamoudou Berete, who fights to keep children from working in Upper Guinea’s gold mines and instead advocates for them to stay in school.
