
On September 11, the U.S. Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission, Hugues Ogier presided the opening ceremony of the forest region based Peace Corps office and made book donations to several local schools. The Peace Corps regional office will from now on serve as point of meeting for the volunteers assigned in the forest region allows being in the field and close to Volunteers in order to support them accomplish their mission. Since 1962, about 1,450 Volunteers have served in Guinea.
