If you are a US citizen in an emergency, you can reach the Embassy 24 hours a day.

During working hours, please call (+224) 655 104 000, from Monday to Thursday, from 07:30 to 16:30 and Friday from 07:30 to 13:30. 

For emergencies after hours, please call +(224) 629 000 701 to reach the duty officer.  Please note this number is for emergencies only.  Passport and visa issues are not emergencies and will not be addressed by the duty officer.  No documentary or passport services are available evenings, weekends, or holidays.

If you are concerned about a relative or friend in Guinea and are calling from the United States, please calls overseas citizen services at 1 (888) 407 4747 from the US or Canada, or +1(202) 501 4444 from overseas for answers related to questions concerning the:

  • Death of a U.S. citizen abroad
  • Medical emergencies of a U.S. citizen abroad
  • Arrest/detention of a U.S. citizen abroad

Public Diplomacy Section

The Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Guinea undertakes informational, cultural and educational activities designed to promote understanding of U.S. foreign policy and society. It acts as the public diplomacy arm of the U.S. Embassy in Guinea, and places special emphasis on democracy, governance, human rights and economic issues. The Public Affairs Office maintains a state-of-the-art Information Resource Center at its facilities.
